Property Taxes
Little Canada has historically maintained a relatively low property-tax burden compared with other Ramsey County communities. I want to keep it that way. As a council member, I will be mindful of every property tax increase, ask whether we are getting the best value for every taxpayer dollar, and look for efficiencies and creative solutions before placing additional costs on residents. I believe we can maintain the services that make Little Canada a great place to live while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.
Transparency
Residents deserve to know not only what their city government decides, but why. As a council member, I will provide regular updates through newsletters and social media about important decisions, explain the reasoning behind them, and create opportunities for residents to provide feedback. Most importantly, I will listen thoughtfully and even when I don't hear what I expected or hoped to hear.
Privacy & Public Safety
I support keeping Little Canada safe while also respecting the privacy and civil liberties of our residents. I remain opposed to Flock cameras and warrantless surveillance. Public safety and individual privacy do not have to be opposing goals, and I believe we should carefully consider how surveillance technology is used in our community.
Accessibility
Little Canada is a diverse community, and everyone should be able to understand and access the resources their city provides. I will work toward making important city information, resources, and literature available in multiple languages and accessible formats, so language or accessibility barriers don't prevent residents from participating in this amazing community.
